Bridges & Tunnels
Another area of expertise for Al Naboodah Civil Engineering Division is in bridge and tunnel construction. We have completed many impressive projects in this field including: The Nad Al Shiba and Ruwayyah Interchanges constructed for Dubai Municipality and valued at 25 million Dirhams.
Kalba Tunnel, a 300 metre long cut and cover structure was constructed for Sharjah Municipality under extremely arduous conditions, cutting the mountain tunnel through solid rock in a remote location.
The Al Nahda Interchange, again for the Sharjah Municipality valued at 30 million Dirhams and the Mirdif Interchange for Dubai Municipality valued at 20 million Dirhams.
University City Bridge, a single carriageway reinforced concrete bridge with steel beams and concrete deck (span of 40 m.) for access to Sharjah University was constructed in a record time of 110 days! The Airshow 2000 Bridge, a 350 m long, seven span post-tensioned flyover was constructed over live traffic in just eight months for the Department of Civil Aviation valued at 20 million Dirhams.
Fairmont Pedestrian Bridge, the first of its kind in Dubai across Sheikh Zayed Road was erected in 2001. It is a box girder steel bridge in three sections and was installed using 7 cranes and with a minimum traffic disruption under ten hours.
