Wetmix and Asphalt Production

Al Naboodah have established production facilities for wetmix and asphalt for our ongoing projects and supply to other customers.

Seven automated asphalt plants, having the latest filtration pollution and computer controls, have a combined capacity of 1280 tonnes per hour and daily production regularly exceeds 10,000 tonnes. Laying is carried out by a fleet of Blaw Knox and ABG Titan pavers incorporating the latest laser sensor levelling controls. In 2006, we laid over 1,062,000 Tonnes of asphalt on various projects. Current programmed requirements are in excess of 2,93,000 tonnes, with the most significant project in 2007 being the construction of the runway and taxiways at Jebel Ali International Airport. This project involves laying over 2,000,000 tonnes of asphalt including 700,000 tonnes of polymer modified wearing course for the runway and taxiways.

Al Naboodah's five wetmix plants can produce all types of blends of crushed wetmix and the total capacity is 1750 T per hour (10000 T/day). The largest of these plants are fully automated with an output of 500 T per hour and includes an integrated cement facility for the production of cement bound granular bases. Laying is via a fleet of Blaw Know pavers in conjunction with Tandem/PTR rollers. Wetmix production andlaying for the year 2006 was in excess of 1,447,000 Tonnes and the projected demand for 2007 is around 3,142,000 tonnes,
