ARCON Readymix Concrete Products
Al Naboodah Readymix Concrete (ARCON) was established in early 1994 as part of the Civil Engineering Division of Al Naboodah Contracting Company (L.L.C.), the original intent being to service an in-house requirement. From the first project, Expansion of Cargo Facilities at Sharjah International Airport, steady growth in the construction sector has resulted in major expansion of ARCON's production and distribution facilities, and continued investment has meant that production levels now exceed 950,000m3/year.
In January 1998 a decision was taken to treat ARCON as a separate division, to determine if it could be competitive in the open market, albeit retaining the administrative and financial support of the parent division. This decision resulted in the achievement of several goals, namely, the approval by the Government of Dubai for the manufacture and trading of readymix concrete to the external market, and the certification to ISO 9001:2000 by Moody International.
ARCON's fully automated Elba & Kabag batching plants have a combined rated capacity of producing 675m³ of wet concrete per hour, and coupled with 4,000 tons cementatious material storage capacity, can produce all types of concrete, from standard recipe prescribed mixes to high performance structural concrete that meets the durability parameters increasingly required by clients. In addition to designed concrete mixes ARCON can also produce grout foams, screed mixes, mortars, self-compacting concrete, light weight concrete, silica fume concrete or GGBS blends.
To complement the batching plants, integrated flaked ice plants and chillers allow concrete to be produced at temperatures of less than 25ºC, also, automated dispensers permit single or combined applications of admixtures from normal plasticisers up to the super high performance polymers.
Distribution is via a well-maintained fleet of Nissan/Volvo/Scania/Man trucks with independently powered 9m³ mixer units, when required, these work in conjunction with a range of mobile & static concrete pumps.
ARCON technical staff are able to address any issues relating to production and quality, and as a result of ARCON's direct association with the construction sector, are able to provide technical assistance in other areas such as placement, compaction and final curing.
Over the past few years ARCON has successfully completed several prestigious Building and Civil Engineering projects as listed in the enclosed performance history.A policy of selective marketing has meant that our key clients now include Al Naboodah Contracting LLC (Building Division). Al Naboodah Engineering Services, Al Habtoor, NWJ&P, Arabtec, Swissboring, Dutco Balfour Beatty, Wade Adams Contracting Co., ASCON, Laing O'Rourke, Khansaheb, Bauer,Al Futtaim Carillion, Higgs& Hill and Group Five Construction.
