Airports
Al Naboodah Civil Engineering Division’s involvement with airport development began with the construction of the second runway and new taxiways at Dubai International Airport in 1983.
Our core of highly trained staff is capable of understanding and working to the exacting standards and technical requirements of all aspects of airport construction. Our experience puts us at the forefront of airport development from basic air traffic management and safety requirements to airfield lighting applications and live fuel hydrant line construction.
Our ability to work efficiently and safely in operational airports has helped us secure a variety of contracts including extensive apron, taxiway, infrastructure cargo facilities and hangar construction work for both Dubai and Sharjah Civil Aviation authorities.
In 1996 work began on the Dubai Airport expansion with Al Naboodah Contracting being awarded the first major civil’s package contract for the construction of the North Apron and Taxiways. This was followed by a variety of packages with a total value in excess of 1.25 Billion Dirhams.
ACC have completed various airside concrete works including over 13,000 piles (driven, bored and CFA method), basements (15 m deep) and substructure works, tunnel construction (involving 50,000 m³ of reinforced concrete) and the installation of a 13 m deep, 800 mm thick reinforced concrete diaphragm wall over a length of 3.1 kilometers.
We have carried out extensive work for the Central Military Command and for both Sharjah International Airport and Emirates Airlines.
The latest testimony to our undisputed position as the leader UAE in Airport Construction has been the recently awarded contracts for construction of runways, taxiways and aprons for the new Jebel Ali International Airport.
In total, Al Naboodah Contracting have laid over 2.0 million tonnes of asphalt in 1.5 million square metres of taxiway and runway construction, 350,000 m 3 of concrete in 675,000m² of aircraft apron construction and over 7.5 kilometres of fuel hydrant lines.
With the experience gained over the last 23 years, Al Naboodah Civil Engineering Division has become leaders in airport construction work in the United Arab Emirates.
